Employee story Bernhard Wolf
Position: Technical Education Trainer
Department: HR

What do you do at ElringKlinger?
As an apprenticeship trainer for electronics occupations, I prepare young people for their future careers. In addition to the electronic and mechanical basics, I also teach the apprentices how to find their way around in their daily work, especially at the beginning.

How many apprentices do you currently supervise and what are your responsibilities?
I am currently supervising around 20 apprentices. My responsibilities start with the recruitment process and end with the final exam.

"For me, ElringKlinger was already one of the best companies in the region back then."

How did you come to work at ElringKlinger and what made you decide to work here?
When I decided to change my job in 2019, I looked around for suitable positions and companies. For me, ElringKlinger was already one of the best companies in the region back then. It is a company that operates worldwide but is still down to earth, with strong values.
What do you like most about your work and why?
I particularly enjoy working with young people. I not only help our apprentices develop professionally, but I also support them as they grow up. I can pass on a lot of knowledge, but I also always have a open ear. At the same time, I can contribute my technical expertise. It's an ideal combination.
"Trainees are involved in projects early on, where they can be creative and learn a lot."

What makes training at ElringKlinger attractive?
The high standard of our training. Trainees are involved in projects early on, where they can be creative and learn a lot. Then there's digitalisation, which we are actively embracing, especially in relation to training. And we place a great deal of emphasis on providing our trainees with good support.
What should a good trainer definitely have?
The joy of working with young people. Openness to the issues of new generations and thus a willingness to change. In addition, the ability to strike a good balance between teaching principles and values, technical and disciplinary leadership, and being well received by others in order to reach the trainees.

What are the challenges of your job?
I am responsible for the safety of young people who are inexperienced in their new environment. Sometimes they cannot yet assess dangers properly and do not understand why we have to work so carefully and safely.
