Employee story Fethi Bennadji
Position: Production employee
Department: Elastomer manufacturing
With ElringKlinger since: 2010
What do you do at ElringKlinger? What are your tasks?
I work at ElringKlinger as a production employee in the field of elastomer technology. As group spokesperson, I am also responsible for coordinative tasks, such as the onboarding of new colleagues and weekly deployment planning in our group. This means that I plan who works on which machine and how we rotate. In addition to these activities, I also regularly stand in for the precision control or our technical coordinator.

How did you come to work for ElringKlinger and what made you decide to work here?
Originally, I trained as a geriatric nurse, but then I changed my career direction and switched to production. I've always enjoyed operating machines and tinkering with various things in my free time. A friend of mine who works at ElringKlinger in Dettingen recommended the company to me. I was particularly attracted by the fact that e-mobility has played a central role at ElringKlinger for some time.

"What I like most is that you can develop personally at ElringKlinger and the company supports you in this."

What do you like best about your work and why?
What I like most is that you can develop personally at ElringKlinger and the company supports you in this. Although I was not originally trained as an adjuster, I was encouraged in this role. Another big plus is the collectively agreed pay. The variety of my tasks makes my working day very diverse. In production, I work with different machines and components, which makes my job exciting and challenging. I also do office work as a stand-in.
Why should someone apply to be a production employee at ElringKlinger?
The working atmosphere is great, I feel comfortable, and I can work productively. This is actively encouraged by our way of working in production: group work. It strengthens the team spirit and increases efficiency through a high degree of personal responsibility and cooperation. The sustainability of our products, particularly in the commercial vehicle sector, is another major advantage. At the same time, the portfolio also includes classic cylinder head gaskets – which have been in reliable use for over 30 years.

Are there also challenges?
Due to the current global economic developments, it is sometimes difficult to get hold of raw materials. This makes planning difficult. Sometimes we have a high workload, while at other times there are waiting times.
Describe yourself with three characteristics.
I am humorous, flexible and spontaneous.

What was the highlight of your week? Personally or professionally?
The highlight of my week was definitely going to the ice skating hall with my son and my girlfriend. It was a lot of fun, although I realized that it's not that easy anymore if you haven't been on the ice for a long time.
What do you do to switch off?
I like to meet up with friends for a game of poker or to go for a drink. Gaming also helps me to switch off.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
I feel very comfortable here. My supervisor is honest, clear and direct. When something goes well, he acknowledges that – I appreciate that very much.
