Employee story Lara Fuchs
Position: Junior Project Manager
Department: Global Strategy & Digital Transformation
With ElringKlinger since: 2021
What do you do at ElringKlinger? What are your responsibilities?
I completed my dual studies in industrial engineering (specialising in electrical engineering) at ElringKlinger in September 2024. During my studies, I worked in various departments and had the opportunity to spend three months working at our US site in Fremont. Now I have a permanent position as a junior project manager.

How did you come up with the idea of studying at ElringKlinger?
ElringKlinger is well known in the region and was quickly on my list of potential employers. Friends who already work at ElringKlinger had a lot of positive things to say about the company. One of the main reasons I applied was the size of the company. On the one hand, ElringKlinger is a medium-sized family business, but on the other hand, it also operates internationally. After a great interview with Sigrid Moritz, the head of training, I was sure this was the right decision for me. I was also impressed by the fact that you can work in different departments and go abroad.

"I appreciated the diverse insights gained from working in different departments and getting to know several locations."

What did you particularly like about your studies?
I appreciated the diverse insights gained from working in different departments and getting to know several locations. This allowed me to find out which career paths suit me. One highlight was the stay abroad in the USA.
How did you end up in your current position?
As part of my bachelor's thesis, I developed a concept for managing a digitalisation program in the ‘Global Strategy & Digital Transformation’ department. I applied for a position that matched this and was taken on.
What do you like about your current position?
I get to meet a lot of people and work across departments. Our team is highly collaborative and motivated, and really wants to make a difference. Just as I did during my studies, I receive a lot of support here and have a wide range of different tasks.
"Flexible and mobile working ensure a good work-life balance."

What do you like about ElringKlinger as an employer?
I like the international work and the many opportunities for further development. The future-oriented focus of the SHAPE30 corporate strategy motivates me. Flexible and mobile working ensure a good work-life balance. I also appreciate the high level of support from my colleagues and my manager.
How do you see your professional future?
I would like to grow into my position and learn as much as possible.
Was there anything during your studies that was challenging for you?
The coronavirus crisis was challenging. Many employees were working from home, so at first I hardly got to know anyone in person. That was especially difficult because everything was new to me and it was therefore harder to connect with my colleagues and fully understand the processes.

Describe yourself in three words.
Goal-oriented, communicative, sporty.
What was the highlight of your week? Personally or professionally?
I play tennis in a club that celebrated its 50th anniversary this weekend.
What do you do to switch off?
Mostly sports. I like to go jogging, play tennis or volleyball and also go for long walks with my dog. I also like to ski in winter.
