Project Engineer Production Control
Employee story Sophia Bragagnolo
Position: Project Engineer Production Control
Department: Production Control
With ElringKlinger since: 2016
What do you do at ElringKlinger? What are your tasks?
I work as a project engineer in Production Control. Our team defines processes and standards for new software systems that are used in production. As soon as a new system is implemented, we accompany the project and support the introduction in all plants worldwide. Our role also includes training employees and providing support.

How did you come to ElringKlinger and what made you decide to work here?
I come from Bad Urach, and ElringKlinger is a very present company here. I already had my first contacts during my school days, for example at school events or the Girls Day at ElringKlinger. I am very attached to my home region and it was always important to me to work for a regional company that promotes the Erms Valley. That's why I decided to do a dual study programme at ElringKlinger. After graduating, I was taken on directly and have been working here ever since.

"I learn something new every day. You are challenged here and grow with it."

What do you like most about your work and why?
I learn something new every day. You are challenged here and grow with it. At the same time, I have a lot of international contact through the global support for all plants and get an insight into how production works in other countries.
What makes working at ElringKlinger special?
ElringKlinger has grown rapidly, from a medium-sized company to a global automotive supplier. And yet you can still achieve a lot as an individual. I strongly identify with the new #SHAPE30 corporate strategy, which has further increased my interest in ElringKlinger. I also feel very well supported here.
"I want to make a difference here, to move forward and take advantage of the opportunities that are given to me here."

What are the essential qualities for a good Project Engineer Production Control?
Openness and flexibility, to think outside the box and work effectively with new systems. Courage to question old processes and standards and to break out of established patterns. And foresight: just because it's always been done a certain way doesn't mean it's the best way.
Are there things that annoy you?
It's not always easy to introduce new systems, processes or standards at all levels and to ‘take’ all employees with you. Not everyone finds change easy. It requires good change management, a lot of communication and the fostering of an open mindset for transformation.

What encourages you to give 100% at work?
I want to make a difference here, to move forward and take advantage of the opportunities that are given to me here. At ElringKlinger, if you perform well, it is recognised and you get a lot in return.
Describe yourself in three words.
